The ensuite had seen its fair share of use over the years, leading to visible signs of ageing. Since we had already renovated the main bathroom and toilet, Irina wanted continuity to some extent while maintaining uniqueness and identity for both spaces.

Irina’s passion for unique tapware and tile designs remained a focal point for this renovation as well, to maintain continuity with the main bathroom theme. She additionally wanted to enhance comfort with features like hot and cold water supply for a bidet and a 3-in-1 heater on the ceiling as well as a big overhead shower system.

Once everything was approved on the project scope, budget and design, we started the project ensuring there was minimal disruption to the client. Having done a renovation in their home before, they trusted us for our workmanship and project management.

After The Renovation

Overall look & feel

Step into Irina’s renewed ensuite, where a harmonious blend of colours and textures creates an inviting atmosphere. Silver metallic floor tiles provide a striking backdrop, while luxurious Tivoli Grey Super Gloss wall tiles replicate natural stone.

The wall-hung vanity, crowned with a custom white marble slab top, exudes elegance. An LED auto-dim mirror eliminates fog and offers versatile lighting. Premium gunmetal Methven tapware complements the modern design.

This ensuite is a functional yet elegant retreat for Irina, where every detail exudes freshness and sophistication.

Shower & Waterproofing

A custom-made 1m x 1m pull-out door frameless shower was chosen to maximise space and replace the previous acrylic shower. The tempered glass was treated with EnduroShield coating to minimise water stains. 

The floor and wall tiles were selected with waterproofing in mind, given the ensuite’s location on the third level. Our team employed full Aqualine GIB, ensuring a durable and water-resistant foundation, giving Irina peace of mind for years to come.

Bathroom Tiling

For the bathroom floor, we chose Metal Stone Silver 6*6 tiles, which offered a striking semi-polished porcelain look with a distinct silver metallic finish. The range of grey to charcoal tones with a silver sheen gave the bathroom a unique character.

The ensuite bathroom walls were adorned with Tivoli Grey Super Gloss 3*6 tiles, replicating the elegance of natural stone. The high gloss finish reflected light and added a sense of luxury to the space. These tiles were selected to match the countertop basin’s colour tone, ensuring a cohesive and visually appealing design.

For the shower’s wet area, Irina opted for feature wall tiles in Artwood Blackblue 200 X 1200. These tiles replicated the look of wood with a high degree of variation, adding a touch of warmth to the space.

Bathroom Cabinets and Storage:

We installed a 900mm wall-hung vanity from Bath&Tile. The vanity featured a custom white marble slab top, adding a touch of elegance to the space. To enhance functionality and convenience, we incorporated an LED auto-dim function into the mirror. This feature eliminated fog after showers and allowed for adjustable lighting from cold white to warm yellow, providing versatility for various lighting needs.

The counter-top basin selected for the ensuite not only looked elegant but was paired with a Methven gunmetal tall basin mixer, adding a touch of luxury to the daily routine.

Fixtures, Fittings, and Appliances:

To illuminate the ensuite, we chose Phillip LED downlights, paired with Resene Alabaster interior painting, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere.

The tapware, sourced from the renowned NZ brand Methven, featured a premium gunmetal finish, complementing the overall aesthetic of the ensuite. The Englefield back-to-wall rimless toilet added a modern touch, optimising space utilisation.

Irina’s desire for enhanced comfort was achieved through the inclusion of both hot and cold water supply for a bidet, providing an extra layer of convenience and luxury in the ensuite. The project also incorporated a 3-in-1 heater mounted on the ceiling. This choice eliminated the need for a traditional wall-mounted heater fan, offering efficient heating and maintaining a sleek and clutter-free design.

Overall outcome

The final result of Irina’s ensuite renovation is a testament to freshness, elegance, and functionality. The renovation process was streamlined through effective communication between our project manager and the client, with decisions, variations, fittings, and tile selections handled efficiently via email.

Premium Gunmetal finish tapware, along with shower accessories, tile edge trims and even a separate gunmetal mixer and hand bidet for the toilet. The ensuite now offers a harmonious blend of functionality and luxury, making it a welcoming space for Irina to enjoy.

Signs of wear and tear were evident on the vanity and shower, prompting her decision to embark on a renovation journey.

Irina had a clear vision – she wanted to incorporate distinctive tapware and tile designs into her main  bathroom and toilet.

 While she aimed to maintain the existing layout, her ultimate desire was to infuse a unique charm into the space through the renovation.

Irina’s main bathroom has undergone a remarkable transformation, now exuding an air of timeless sophistication and contemporary functionality. The centerpiece is an elegant custom-made sliding door shower, featuring tempered glass that seamlessly balances aesthetics and practicality.

The carefully chosen tiles redefine the space, creating an ambiance that is both inviting and opulent. In the toilet area, New York Nero tiles set a unique tone, complemented by an eye-catching feature wall created by a harmonious blend of different tile designs.

Elegance meets convenience with thoughtfully designed storage solutions, premium Methven tapware, and a blend of illumination and ventilation. The Englefield back-to-wall rimless toilet is the epitome of modern bathroom design.

Shower and waterproofing:

A custom-made 1×1.2m sliding door shower acrylic shower was installed and the tempered glass has an Enduro Shield coating to minimise water stains.

The floor and wall tiles were selected with waterproofing in mind, considering the bathroom’s location on the second level. The project employed full Aqualine GIB, ensuring a durable and water-resistant foundation.

Bathroom Tiling

Tile selections included Artwood Bone Inlay 600 x 600mm for the bathroom floor. This is a wooden looking pattern with matching chevrons. The bathroom walls have stunning designs of Botanica Magnolia 600mm X 1200mm.

For the toilet area, we used New York Nero 450mm x 450mm. These tiles have smokey colours and an industrial finish. For the toilet walls, we used three different types of tiles to make a feature wall in this smaller area. The tiles include Everest Gloss wall (300 x 600mm), York Slim Gris Gloss (60mm x 400mm) and York Slim Pearl Gloss (60x 400mm).

Bathroom Cabinets and Storage:

The primary storage element in the bathroom is a 1200mm wall-hung vanity from Bath & Tile. Its Marble customised diamond black slab top adds a touch of elegance. To enhance functionality and aesthetics, a black mirror side cabinet was installed for towel storage, also doubling as a space for makeovers and dressing. In the toilet, a wall-hung Nano crystal vanity measuring 420mm was included, serving as a discreet storage solution.

Fixtures, Fittings, and Appliances:

The bathroom renovation was a harmonious blend of various elements. Philip LED downlights, along with Resene Alabaster interior painting, illuminated the space.

The tapware, sourced from the renowned NZ brand Methven, featured a striking Gunmetal colour. The toilet boasted an Englefield back-to-wall rimless design. Practicality was addressed with the inclusion of an independent extractor fan, catering to both residential and potential rental needs.

The final touches of elegance were brought by LED mirrors and a counter-top basin. An extractor fan was strategically placed on the wall, complemented by a 3-in-1 heater on the ceiling for added comfort.

Irina’s main bathroom now stands as a testament to freshness, elegance, and functionality. The communication throughout the project was streamlined through emails, facilitating decisions, variations, and updates. Luxury bathroom with Brushed Nickel colour theme

Materials

The selection of materials played a pivotal role in reimagining this bathroom, creating a symphony of style, functionality, and durability. The shower area received a touch of modern luxury with a 10mm tempered glass sliding door, effortlessly marrying sleek design with sturdiness.
Our choice of AllProof shower drain system from Reece Plumbing ensured efficient drainage.The Aqualine GIB and new Ceiling GIB formed a sturdy foundation, backed by the reliability of Technokolla waterproofing.

For the walls and floors, we embarked on a harmonious journey of light-coloured tiles that exude sophistication. The walls embraced the timeless Casablanca White tile from Tile Depot, a masterpiece in 120×120 dimensions, offering a charming interplay of shades for a dynamic visual experience.

Complementing the wall’s elegance, the floor was adorned with 600 x 600mm Egyptian White Deco porcelain tiles, radiating a warm eggshell white that added depth to the space. These tiles are set in a captivating random mix, extended from the floor and rolled up to form a captivating feature wall behind the vanity, infusing the bathroom with character.

Bathroom Vanity & Storage

Our bathroom storage solutions combine practicality and style seamlessly. The 600mm wall-hung vanity, in the inviting tones of Brookfield Nordic Ash from Reece, comes with double drawers, adding an organised touch with elegance.

For added comfort, the Mizu Stream 800*600 heated towel rail takes its place, functional and snug. The Avon 600 mirror cabinet, elegantly recessed into the wall with its Nordic Ash design, offers extra storage for everyday needs. It’s worth noting that this cabinet includes an additional internal power socket, discreetly placed for easy charging without affecting the look.

Highlighting our comprehensive approach, a transformed window stands out. With external cladding and expert painting, it fits seamlessly with the bathroom’s look, enhancing both appearance and layout. This creative change shows our commitment to merging style and usefulness, capturing our dedication to a practical and sophisticated transformation.

The meticulous selection of bathroom fittings and fixtures weaved an enchanting tapestry of style and purpose, enhancing every facet of the space.

Philip LED Downlights cast a gentle radiance, painting the bathroom with a soothing glow that beckons relaxation. The Reece Storm Series Tapwares not only serve as exquisite focal points but also ensure effortless water flow, harmonising aesthetics with practicality.

The Rimless Toilet – Kado Back to Wall Style embraces modernity while its rimless feature elevates hygiene, and the back-to-wall style optimises space utilisation. The addition of an Independent Extractor Fan speaks not just to residential comfort, but also anticipates rental needs, maintaining optimal air circulation.

Incorporating a consistent thread of sophistication, every accessory – from the toilet roll holder to the shower mixer/slider, basin mixer to sliding shower accessories – comes to life in elegant Brushed Nickel theme. The renovation incorporated a selection of quality materials to elevate the bathroom and laundry spaces. The Englefield Sierra series 1m*1m acrylic shower set, coupled with an easy-clean shower drain, ensures effortless maintenance and prevents blockage issues. 

The floor and full wall tiling, supported by waterproofing underneath, provide a sense of reassurance. Full Aqualine GIB, a Technokolla waterproof product, contributes to the spaces’ durability. Resene Alabaster interior painting adds a light and refreshing touch. 

The tiles from Tile Depot, are the stunning MG Onyx White Polished 600 X 600, feature a smooth polished finish that adds a luxurious and timeless touch. These tiles are a perfect choice for enhancing the residential interior floors and walls, creating a truly impressive look.

Bathroom Vanity & Storage

The bathroom renovation incorporated carefully designed storage solutions to maximise functionality and create a neat atmosphere. 

A 750mm wall hung vanity from Mico Plumbing provided ample storage space, while its gloss white colour added to the overall tidiness. The addition of a 750mm Avon mirror cabinet with two doors, also from Mico Plumbing, offered additional storage capacity.

 
Furthermore, the vanity featured a power socket on the side, providing a convenient power supply for charging electronic devices. These thoughtfully integrated storage elements ensure a clutter-free and organised bathroom space, promoting both practicality and aesthetics.

Bathroom Fittings & Fixtures

The bathroom renovation incorporated a range of high-quality fittings and fixtures to enhance functionality and add aesthetic appeal. The lighting was upgraded with Phillip LED downlights, providing a bright and energy-efficient illumination. The tapware selected for the project was from the popular Glide series by Mico, combining style and practicality. 

To ensure cleanliness and ease of maintenance, the Adesso EdgeII Rimless back-to-wall toilet was chosen, offering a contemporary and hygienic design. The bathroom also features a Raymo towel rail, with a generous size of 1025*600mm and a total of nine rails for keeping towels warm and dry. 

The impressive Varo freestanding back-to-wall bath, measuring 1500mm, fits snugly against the wall corner, leaving no gaps and offering both comfort and style. To address ventilation requirements, an independent extract fan was installed, catering not only to residential needs but also potential rental property requirements. Additionally, a 3-in-1 heater and shower dome were included to maintain moisture control within the shower area.

Overall outcome

The client expressed great satisfaction with the transformed bathroom and laundry. The implementation of a light and white colour theme created an illusion of spaciousness, making the rooms appear larger. The space now offers the flexibility of both a shower and a bath, providing options for relaxation. The inclusion of an acrylic shower ensures easy maintenance and durability. 

All fittings are backed by warranties from Mico Plumbing and Methven, providing the client with peace of mind. The workmanship is guaranteed for one year, and the waterproofing is covered by a 15-year warranty, assuring long-lasting quality and protection for the newly renovated spaces. The project was completed within a timeframe of 3 weeks, resulting in a successful and satisfying outcome for the client.

The client expressed their desire for a refreshing change, envisioning a spacious bathroom with a sleek, frameless glass shower enclosure replacing the existing confined shower cavity which was enclosed from 3 sides leading to poor ventilation.

Additionally, they wanted to remove the outdated wallpaper that had started peeling off, allowing us to embrace a fresh canvas. By removing the drop-in bath, we aimed to maximise the available space, ensuring a more open and inviting atmosphere. To enhance comfort, a dedicated seating area within the shower was also part of our design vision.

In the bathroom renovation, a range of high-quality materials was carefully chosen to achieve a harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal. The frameless, walk-in shower features a stunning 10mm thick tempered glass, ensuring durability and safety while adding a sleek and modern touch. For effective drainage, the AllProof shower drain system from Reece Plumbing was installed, guaranteeing a clean and hygienic bathroom environment.

The floor and wall tiles boast a matt grey finish with a captivating random pattern, creating a contemporary backdrop that enhances the overall aesthetic. The choice of Dolomite Light Grey matt finish tiles from Tile Depot replicates the exquisite beauty of natural dolomite marble, with its gentle veining and granular patterns. 

Full Aqualine GIB was used for the bathroom and toilet areas, providing a seamless and smooth surface ready for further finishes. Additionally, a new Ceiling GIB was added, improving insulation and acoustics. To ensure long-lasting protection against moisture, a high-quality Technokolla waterproof product was applied. Finally, the Resene Alabaster interior painting adds a clean and timeless touch to the walls.

Bathroom Vanity & Storage

In the renovated bathroom, a thoughtful approach was taken to maximise storage and display areas, ensuring both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The 1000mm wall hung vanity, crafted from Cangas Melamine Charred Oak from Reece, offers ample storage space with its double drawers, while also creating room underneath for a laundry basket.

To add a touch of luxury, a Qubis Towel Ladder measuring 800×600 was installed, serving as a heated towel rail for warmth and comfort. The inclusion of a long Heirloom Aron Glass shelf provides generous space for storing shampoo and conditioner bottles, contributing to an organised and clutter-free environment.

Additionally, the Broadway LED mirror measuring 900mm not only brightens the room but also features a convenient auto demist function, making it easier for makeup application.

These well-chosen storage and display elements combine practicality and style, enhancing the overall functionality and aesthetics of the bathroom.

The inclusion of a separated overhead rain shower system, specifically the Nikles Quatre from Reece, creates a luxurious and relaxing shower experience.

The Kako back-to-wall style rimless toilet from Reece not only enhances the overall sleek appearance but also offers easy maintenance and efficient flushing.

Furthermore, the bathroom features a 3-in-1 heater that offers light, heating, and ventilation functions, ensuring comfort and convenience. An independent extract fan has also been installed to fulfill ventilation requirements, catering not only to residential needs but also providing flexibility for potential rental purposes.

Overall outcome

Overall look & feel

We transformed Katherine’s bathroom into a modern and functional space. The carefully selected colour palette of white, oak and grey achieved a timeless elegance, while maximising the visual impact. 

Ample storage solutions were installed, balancing practicality and aesthetics. Fixtures and fittings were chosen for their quality and efficiency, ensuring convenience for future tenants. 

Mirrors and optimised natural light enhanced the illusion of space, creating an open and inviting atmosphere.

Overall, the design concept successfully delivered a practical and spacious bathroom that tenants can enjoy with its sophisticated blend of colours, thoughtful storage solutions and an illusion of expanded space.

Bathroom Materials

We carefully selected materials that combined durability, functionality, and aesthetic appeal that we shared over email with Katherine and got her thoughts and approvals. 

The shower cabin featured an Englefield 1m*1m acrylic shower set, complemented by an easy-clean shower drain to ensure hassle-free maintenance for tenants. The shower tray and lino on the walls provided longevity and minimised the risk of water leakage. The addition of a new sliding door further enhanced the spaciousness of the ensuite.

The floor tiles were chosen with waterproofing underneath, providing peace of mind, especially since the bathroom was located on the second level. The selected tiles, Dolomite White (600 X 600mm) from Tile Depot, showcased a gorgeous porcelain replica of dolomite marble, featuring soft light venation and granular patterns. This versatile white-based tile, with its easy-care matt surface is perfect for both residential interior floors and walls.

In terms of the bathroom walls, Aqualine GIB was utilised, ensuring a sturdy and reliable foundation. To enhance waterproofing, Technokolla waterproof products were applied, providing long-lasting protection against moisture.
To complete the overall look, Resene Alabaster interior paint was used, adding a touch of brightness and creating a cohesive backdrop for the chosen materials.

Bathroom Vanity & Storage

We incorporated functional and stylish solutions for vanity and storage to make it rental-ready. The 900mm freestanding vanity from Renoarts became a centrepiece, offering both good looks and ample storage capacity. With its double drawers and oak colour, the vanity provides essential storage space for tenants. This allowed for organised placement of bathroom essentials, ensuring a clutter-free and tidy environment.

To add an element of comfort and luxury, an 800*600 heated towel rail was installed. This addition not only provided a convenient spot to hang towels but also ensured they remained warm and cosy, ready for use. 

The carefully chosen vanity and the inclusion of a heated towel rail contributed to the overall efficiency and convenience of the space. The integration of these elements reflected the commitment to providing reliable and high-quality solutions, further enhancing the value of the rental property.

Illuminating the bathroom with Phillip LED downlights created a warm and inviting ambiance while offering energy-efficient lighting. The 900mm round LED mirror with an auto demist function added a touch of sophistication, ensuring a clear reflection even in humid conditions. A power socket conveniently located on the side of the vanity provided an easy charging solution for electronic devices, catering to the tenants needs. 

The bathroom boasted high-quality tapwares from Methven, a renowned New Zealand brand. The Englefield back-to-wall style rimless toilet was selected for its sleek design and hygienic benefits, making cleaning easier and maintaining overall hygiene. To fulfil ventilation requirements, an independent extract fan was installed, ensuring proper airflow and moisture control. 

This feature not only met residential standards but also catered to potential rental needs, ensuring a comfortable and fresh bathroom environment.

The combination of fittings and fixtures highlighted our commitment to providing a comprehensive and enjoyable bathroom experience for Katherine’s future tenants.

Overall outcome

The outcome of the bathroom renovation project left the client, Katherine, impressed with its fresh, simple and highly functional design. The communication throughout the project was streamlined and efficient, with decisions, variations and selections made via email between the project manager and the owner. The client’s bathroom was showing signs of age. The vanity panels were quite worn out and in need of replacement. The shower, although functional, looked outdated with its curved glass and tight space which Kerry wanted to make bigger so we suggested a rectangle space. 

To do away with the outdated look, we suggested the use of full tiles to give a more contemporary style. 

Along the lines of keeping it stylish, Kerry also wanted to improve the toilet system with a more efficient one. The bathroom lacked proper ventilation, leading to excess moisture. We suggested a good ventilation system that could effectively remove moisture from the wet areas, ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment.

Considering the initial condition of the bathroom and the client’s specific requests, our renovation project aimed to address these issues and create a functional and visually appealing bathroom that would meet the client’s needs and preferences.

Bathroom Materials

The shower area features a 10mm thick tempered retaining glass for the pull-out door, providing both safety and durability. Its sleek and contemporary appearance adds a touch of elegance, while the spacious size of 1.1m x 1.1m ensures a comfortable showering experience.

To ensure efficient drainage, we incorporated the AllProof shower drain system from Reece Plumbing, effectively collecting and removing water to prevent any potential accumulation. Technokolla waterproofing products were used to provide a long-lasting and water-resistant foundation, protecting against moisture and potential damage.
For the walls, a captivating combination of dark and light colours was achieved with Notion Black 600 X 600 wall tiles from Tile Depot. These tiles boast a striking stone-like character with a soft linear grain, adding depth and visual interest. Their R10 anti-slip rating ensures both style and safety.

The bathroom floor features MG Onyx White Polished tiles, also from Tile Depot, which create a luxurious and indulgent atmosphere with their smooth polished finish.

Completing the look, Resene Alabaster interior paint adds a touch of sophistication and serves as a clean backdrop to highlight the architectural features and materials.

Bathroom Vanity & Storage

For efficient storage, we incorporated a 900mm freestanding vanity, the Mia white model from Reece. This vanity not only provides ample storage space but also boasts a stylish design. With its double drawers, it offers convenient organisation and accessibility, allowing for a clutter-free bathroom environment. The Mia white vanity exudes a sense of elegance and modernity, seamlessly blending with the overall aesthetic of the renovated space.

To add a touch of luxury and practicality, we installed the Posh Solus Towel Ladder, an 800mm x 600mm heated towel rail and towel rack. This combination provides both functionality and a visually pleasing element. The heated towel rail ensures warm and cosy towels while the towel rack offers a convenient storage option, keeping towels within easy reach.

To enhance the overall ambiance and functionality of the bathroom, we included the Broadway LED mirror measuring 900mm. This mirror not only brightens the room but also offers excellent visibility for makeup application. Its handy auto-demist function ensures a clear reflection even in steamy conditions, providing convenience and ease of use.

Meticulously designed storage solutions, such as the wall-hung vanity with a satin finish and double vessel sinks, combined functionality with refined elegance. Materials

When it comes to a premium bathroom renovation, every detail matters, especially the choice of materials. For this project, the Ideal Renovations team carefully selected the best quality materials to create a luxurious and elegant bathroom. 

The star of the show was the double shower system, complete with a 10mm tempered glass 1m*1.6m frameless sliding shower with a flat shower tray, and a twin shower system that allows two people to take a shower at the same time. The showers are powerful and strong giving a spa-like experience in the comfort of home. 

The floor and full wall tiling were also carefully chosen to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The tiles used in the bathroom are sourced from Tile Depot and include Paris White for the floor and walls. This light-colored tile has darker flecks and gently undulating vein patterning that reminds one of sandy shorelines. It has a smooth matt surface that feels lovely to the touch and is very easy to clean. 

The feature wall tile is Casablanca Mint, which is a stunning range of tiles with shades of light, mid, and dark tones. The tiles are laid out horizontally on the floor and roll up to three pieces of the bathroom wall. The tiles were so beautifully arranged that they looked virtually seamless under the light, giving the bathroom an air of exclusivity and sophistication.

Bathroom Vanity & Storage

The bathroom storage in this project was carefully considered to maximize functionality while maintaining a stylish aesthetic. The 1200mm NEO wall-hung vanity with two drawers provides ample storage space for toiletries and other bathroom essentials, while its satin finish adds a touch of elegance. The vanity’s sparkling white stone countertop with double vessel sinks from a premium bathroomware supplier not only looks sophisticated but also allows two people to use the vanity at the same time, making it ideal for couples or families with busy mornings.

To keep towels warm and dry, the project incorporated a Newtech Quadro heater towel rail measuring 530mm by 600mm. Additionally, a custom-made niche was installed on the shower area wet wall, providing convenient storage space for shampoo, conditioner, and other shower necessities. To complete the storage options, hand towel rails were added to both sides of the vanity for easy access after washing hands. Overall, this thoughtfully designed storage system provides practical solutions for organizing bathroom essentials while adding a touch of luxury.

The premium fittings, fixtures, and appliances used in this bathroom renovation are not only luxurious but also highly functional. Both tapware fittings are from the Code Pure range from a premium supplier, which combines stylish design with high-quality materials for long-lasting durability.


The Code Solace LED demister mirror adds a warm and inviting feel to the bathroom, especially in the evening, and helps to eliminate steam and fog. The LED light strip installed underneath the vanity is a power-saving feature that provides a soft and warm glow for night-time use. 

The bathroom also has an independent extractor fan that meets both residential and rental property ventilation requirements. The extractor fans are installed with a timer to ensure they switch off automatically after use, ensuring peace of mind. The concealed wiring for the heater towel rail makes the whole bathroom look sleek and wireless, while providing the necessary warmth for towels and the room itself.

Overall outcome

After completing this premium-level bathroom renovation project, the client was more than satisfied with the final outcome. The Brushed Nickel finish of the fixtures, including the basin mixer, shower mixer, slider, Allprove shower drain, tile edge trim, and pop up waste, all in brushed Nickel finishing, perfectly matched the overall color theme. The combination of tile colors and unique layout design added a touch of luxury to the bathroom. 

The installation of fittings also provided the client with the peace of mind of a warranty, ensuring the quality and longevity of the renovation. The team’s workmanship was also backed by a one-year guarantee, while the waterproofing carried a 15-year warranty. The feature wall tile, Victoria White Gloss Ripple 65 X 265, is a glazed ceramic wall tile with a rippled gloss finish from Tile Depot, which adds depth and texture to the design. The rippled finish of the tile is especially eye-catching and reflects light beautifully, creating a stunning visual effect that adds to the luxurious feel of the space. The interiors are also painted with Resene Alabaster interior painting which adds warmth.

Overall, the combination of the horizontal floor tiles, vertical subway tiles, and rippled feature wall tile creates a striking and unique design that elevates the bathroom to a new level of luxury.

Additionally, a custom-made niche on the bath wet wall and shower area wet wall is perfect for keeping more shampoo and conditioners. 

The hand towel rail on the side of the vanity is conveniently placed for easy access after washing hands, and the shelves and display areas offer space for decorative items, further enhancing the bathroom’s ambiance.

The Code Solace LED demister mirror, measuring 750mm in length, adds a functional and aesthetic touch to the bathroom. Its built-in LED light strip provides ample illumination while also saving power, and its demister function ensures a clear view, even in the steamiest of bathrooms.

Finally, an independent extract fan fulfills venting requirements, ensuring proper ventilation and air quality.

Overall outcome

The client was overjoyed with the final outcome of their premium level bathroom renovation. It took 4 weeks to complete. The Gun Metal colour theme of the fittings, including the basin mixer, shower mixer and slider, bath mixer, bath spout, Allprove shower drain, tile edge trim, and pop up waste, added a touch of uniqueness and luxury to the overall design. The tile colour combination and layout were also carefully chosen to complement the fittings and create a cohesive and stylish look.

The unique layout of the bathroom was a standout feature of the renovation, adding a touch of luxury to the overall design. The horizontal floor tiles, combined with the vertical stacking of the subway tiles, created a beautiful contrast that drew the eye and made the space feel elegant and sophisticated. Rodney’s New Bathroom

Project Overview

Our client's common bathroom, which had been in use for many years, had begun to show signs of ageing and wear and tear.

It was clear that a renovation was needed to restore the bathroom to its former glory. Our co-founder Jimmy and his team were delighted to deliver.

We had to renovate the entire bathroom including worn and torn vanity panels and a dated, framed shower. Additionally, the drop-in bathtub had begun to leak, requiring an upgrade. 

Although the bathroom had an overall 1970’s style, our client wanted to incorporate a featured tile wall to give it a modern touch. Additionally, he also wanted more space by installing a wall hung vanity. Our team was happy to deliver on our client’s expectations.

After The Renovation

Overall look & feel

The overall look and feel of the bathroom is one of modern sophistication and practicality. With its fresh and stylish tilework in shades of grey and white, the bathroom strikes a perfect balance between comfort and opulence. 

Additionally, the renovation has made the bathroom more spacious and functional, making it easier and more enjoyable to use. 

Overall, the client is extremely pleased with the outcome of the project and the improved functionality and aesthetics of their newly renovated bathroom.

Materials

The bathroom renovation project utilised high-quality materials to achieve a modern and stylish look. The shower area features a diamond shape made of 10mm tempered glass, with the AllProof shower drain system from Reece Plumbing. 

For the floor and walls, a durable and easy-to-clean matt grey tile was used, with a subway tile as a feature in the wet area. The bathroom also features full Aqualine GIB and new ceiling GIB, along with the use of Technokolla waterproof products.

The Kashmir series of stone effect ceramic tiles were chosen for their practicality, with a matt surface suitable for everyday use on both floors and walls. Additionally, the Kaleido series offers a timeless and elegant Italian design, with the Kaleido Grigio 450x450mm tiles used in a dark grey charcoal shade suitable for both floors and walls. The wet area is adorned with classic white wall tiles, featuring a glossy finish and made of glazed ceramic.

Bathroom Vanity & Storage

The 600mm wall hung vanity featured double drawers, providing ample storage space for toiletries and other bathroom essentials. The design also created additional space underneath the vanity for a laundry basket, helping to keep the bathroom neat and tidy. 

To further enhance the functionality of the space, we added the Heirloom Centro Double towel rail, measuring 600mm in length. This sleek and stylish accessory not only provided a convenient place to hang towels but also added a touch of elegance to the overall design.

Bathroom Fittings & Fixtures

For the bathroom fixtures, fittings, and appliances, we selected high-quality products that would enhance the functionality and style of the space. We installed Phillip LED downlights to provide ample lighting and create a warm, inviting atmosphere. To add a touch of elegance, we used Resene Alabaster interior paint for the walls. For the floor and wall tiles, we chose the Kashmir Grey Matt 45 x 45 and Kaleido Grigio Natural 450 x 450, respectively, from Tile Depot. In the wet area, we used the City White Gloss 100 x 300 subway tile to give the space a clean, modern look. 

The tapware we used was from Englefield and has a 5-star water rating. The Sorrento II 1670mm bath tub, also from Englefield, was installed for the client’s comfort and relaxation. We also re-installed the rimless side pipe toilet. 

To ensure maximum comfort during colder months, we installed a 3-in-1 heater that provides lighting, heating, and ventilation. Finally, we installed a Sweet Series shower slider with an overhead rain system and an adjustable rain shower head for a luxurious and indulgent shower experience.

Overall outcome

Our client was extremely satisfied with the final outcome of the bathroom renovation project which was completed in 3 and a half weeks. The new bathroom design provided a fresh, modern feeling, which was especially evident in the beautiful tile work. The tiles used throughout the bathroom, including the Kashmir and Kaleido series, were designed to withstand everyday use and were easy to clean. The new fixtures and fittings, including the Englefield tapware and Sorrento II bathtub, provided both style and functionality. All fittings come with the Englefield standard warranty. 

Our workmanship has a 2 years guarantee and waterproofing has a 15 years warranty. With all fittings and workmanship guaranteed, our client could enjoy their newly renovated bathroom with peace of mind.
